The Venture Forum held its annual 5-Minute Pitch Contest at the WPI Campus Center in Worcester. The contest gave eight local startups significant exposure and the opportunity to pitch their business to a friendly audience and panel of venture capitalist judges.
The first place winner of the 5-Minute Pitch Contest was AMProtection, a developer of anti-microbial coatings for urinary catheters. AMProtection presenters Lindsay Lozeau and Todd Alexander received $2500 cash, plus another $500 as the Poster Contest winners.
Xperii, a platform that connects people looking for paid studies and clinical trials near them with experimenters recruiting subjects to participate in their research, won the judge’s second place prize, as well as the audience’s choice award. Xperii presenter and CEO, Evan Ehrenberg collected $2500 in cash for the company.
