How to Be a Lean Startup
What is a lean startup? What are the benefits? How can a startup become lean?
Lean startups maintain a laser-sharp focus on customer needs as they rapidly grow from prototype to producing what customers are willing to pay for. Leaders of three companies following the lean startup model will share their challenges and choices at the October 8 meeting of The Venture Forum: Jeffrey Tingle, CTO of TheraVid Inc.; Peter F. Alberti, Founder of PetChance.org; and Greg Affsa, CFO of Gentoo, Inc.
TheraVid is the first patient management platform built to enable orthopedic injury rehabilitation providers to turn engagement into earnings. This web and mobile solution, already in use and generating early recurring revenue, addresses the multi-billion dollar patient retention problem in injury rehabilitation. PetChance.org is a niche crowdfunding web site that allows pet owners to raise money online from friends and family for veterinary expenses when money is tight. Gentoo, Inc. is a Boston-based medical device startup that creates patient-focused medical accessories that allow a patient to maintain a patient maintain their quality of life. They plan to introduce their first product, InfuGo, in October.
Held at WPI this month, The Venture Forum welcomes entrepreneurs, funders and service providers to a lively discussion of this new methodology.
Networking starts at 5:30 and the meeting will be begin at 6:30.
