    TVF, The City of Worcester, most progressive businesses ,and communities are reaching out to build new future opportunities. The economy, jobs, and the world in which we live, demand this outreach to accommodate our goals.

    To get there, intrapreneurship and entrepreneurship are critical ingredients for success. In this session, The Venture Forum is bringing together leading, hands-on, company founders and leaders, investors and advisors.

    • They will revisit clear, relevant understandings of intrapreneurship in practice today and demonstrate their practical meanings,
    • Explore the resources needed to execute in today’s world, and
    • Identify the key factors necessary for success – and their value to us!

    Presenters will answer the tough questions: How do you recognize people who are intrapreneurs or entrepreneurs in your company? What are the challenges to nurturing the culture and supporting this culture profitably? Describe men and womae who have found success in these roles? Why can these I+E -preneurships be important in contemporary business success? HOW CAN YOU JOIN IN?

    Experts:

    Michael J. Mulrain - COO & CFO, Polar Beverages, Worcester, MA

    Mike has been the CFO at Polar since 1995 and in 2010 also assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer. Since joining Polar, Mike has been responsible for the completion of over thirty acquisition transactions that resulted in sales growth from $50 million to nearly $600 million and EBITDA growth of more than 500%. The acquisitions included two manufacturing operations and multiple distribution businesses. He also led several major recapitalization transactions comprising over $400 million of debt and equity financing. Mike oversees all finance, legal, operational, insurance and purchasing functions of the Company and leads the strategic planning efforts of the organization as well.

    Mike is a graduate of Bentley University, became a certified public accountant and worked for 10 years at Deloitte in Boston and then worked in investment banking for five years before joining Polar in 1995.

    He serves on the boards of a number of non-profit organizations in the Worcester area and also on several Polar-affiliated company boards and is the Board Chair of Kayem Foods in Chelsea, MA.

    Robert Morton - President & CEO, bankHometown, Millbury MA


    Banks continue to look to take advantage of size efficiencies to offer efficient technology and services to depositors, all customers.

    Robert J. Morton, President and CEO, is the leader in the merger of two banks - both claim roots dating back to more than a century. Millbury Savings Bank has joined together with bankHometown to create a fresh, new institution – more than one Billion Dollars in assets and 15 branches, throughout Central Massachusetts and Northeastern Connecticut, as we enter 2020. And, the bank plans a new branch on Grove St., Worcester, this year.

    Mr. Morton is a graduate of Worcester State University, Clark University, and attended Babson College. He serves on the Board of Worcester State University Foundation, where he has prioritized easing education costs.

    Paul W. Wendenger - President and CEO of Greater Good Imperials, Worcester, MA

    Mr. Wendenger brings proven experience supporting startup projects or new ventures. 

    He has a passion for working with great scientists and artists is a leader of dynamic teams in a variety of settings, including craft brewing, and most notably the Contract Research (CRO) interface in Life Sciences.

    Proficient in mapping, communicating and deploying a plan that require many hats: finance, sales/marketing, R&D (laboratory) operations, and managing stakeholders toward shared goals. Proven track record of converting a strategic vision into high ROI endpoints. Broad network of industry professional colleagues.

    More than 20 years of experience bringing people together with positive energy to solve problems, create innovative products, and have fun building a company/community.
